The power of TED talks |Inspiration, Motivation and knowledge

I have known for years that they are a wonderful source of motivation and inspiration but have not really sat down and watched them before. We are doing this instead of watching TV and it is so much more powerful.

Recently we have decided it is time to get rid of our satellite TV service and have starting using Chromecast to watch other stuff and this has opened up a whole other side to watching. I am constantly amazed at the things my husband finds for our viewing pleasure

Hi guys it has been a while but I just have to share with you something my husband and I have taken to doing lately.

We have started listening to TED and TEDx talks and they have been really good. It has been a great way to spend time we would otherwise have spent watching normal TV.

In the last week we have seen talks from an Australian that s an absolute master at beatboxing and looping.  What he does with his voice forever amazes me.

Then we have watched one by Tim Urban on Procrastination.  That was so good.  Tim talks about the what the procrastinators mind looks like compared to the non-procrastinator.  He talks about the rational thinker part of the brain versus the have fun monkey and then also the Panic monster. I could so relate to this.  I am a procrastinator from way back and it even though I overcome it most of the time there are still times when I would rather do everything except what I am supposed to be doing at the time.

An example of that is, I am trying to get my tax organised at the moment.  Do you think I can sit down for more than 10 minutes before something else has caught my attention?  It might be putting our gas Barbeque together, or getting on and doing some badly needed de-cluttering, or deciding that tonight I am going to cook a  stew so then spending the next half hour or so going through recipe books.  I know I will achieve it, but as Tim says it is usually only when the panic monster really kicks in.

Do you have this kind of problem too?

Here it is for your enjoyment.

Another one we have watched this week was ” do you think you can draw?”  This was amazing letting you learn that anyone no matter how bad you think you are can draw.  This was eye-opening and very enlightening. How many of you once you reach adulthood really feel you can not draw anymore?  Drawing is not a creative channel you can use?

Watch this talk by Graham Shaw and you will realise that everyone can draw.  Even if it just to make a power point presentation just a bit more interesting.

This  third talk was the first one I saw and I immediately started taking notes. This about Drawing your future. This is something I am learning at the moment through the teachings of William Wood in the Next Level Mastermind training I am doing.  It is a simple way to do goal setting and the three steps required to achieve your goals.

 See it,

Believe it

ACT on it.

I hope you have enjoyed these talks today.  I sure did and If you did please let me know.  If you want access to more inspiration and teaching ask me about Project Titan and the Empower Network.

I have learned so much from both product ranges.

Have a great day

Inspiration Ebook

Hi all it has been a while, but I have finally got space to write a blog again.

One of the reasons I have not been writing is I have been busy creating an ebook, that I can giveaway to people who sign up to my email list and team.

I chose to create a book called 105 Inspirational Quotes just for You as I was looking for something that would help people starting out on their journey have something to inspire them daily.

Inspirational Ebook

Inspirational quotes are one of the things that is helping me grow my mindset daily to help me succeed in life.

On this journey I have been exploring how to use leadpages, create my own capture pages and how to use a site rotator to test pages.  I am learning so much everyday that I would love to share with people who are looking for the same thing I am, a way out of the JOB so I can spend my time giving to others and being available for my family.

Through this system I am learning so much on how to build my business.  I was involved in a wonderful training last night with one of the high earners in our business and I was able to pick up so much useful information which can be used for building this business and any other business online or offline.

Life has been interesting lately as both my husband and I are working on creating a new life for ourselves but through it all we are remaining positive and the right people are coming into our lives at just the right time. The other day I was listening to an inner circle recording about desperation and that got me thinking I am desperate to make this new life.  Everyday I head to the office and work for someone else and then have lunch with a friend and think to myself it will be great when I can have lunch and not be on a time restraint.  I just want freedom to be able to do what I want with no financial or time restraints.

In the last few weeks there has been some very major disasters in the world, these have made me think one of my Whys of this business is I want to be able to help in times of need without thinking of financial consequences whether it is actually getting on  plane and being on the ground somewhere or being able to give a large financial contribution, I have heard from friends that traveled to the latest Company event in Nashville that there are people in this organisation that are paying to get ambulances into the African countries.  Everyone in this organisation is a giver and that is what I love about it.

What my husband and I have always said is that when we have enough we want to be able to help out our local free ambulance service by buying a new ambulance and having it fully maintained and crewed for the life of the ambulance.

If you want to serve your community and make  difference in your own life and the life of your loved ones I would love to have you join me on my journey to make this little part of the world a much better place.

To help me with getting my mind into a better place I am using a series of learning called the Inner Circle.  Check out this wonderful source of daily inspiration and mindset training by checking out the banner below about training your brain.

Books that have inspired me

Today I am going to keep it simple and talk about some books that I have really enjoyed.

The first is about New Zealand guy called Jason Barrell. The book is called Try, Try Again. Written with the help of Elaine Weber McGough

Hi Everyone

Hope you are having a wonderful day.  If you are not then some of these books might help you.

Today I am going to keep it simple and talk about some books that I have really enjoyed.

The first is about New Zealand guy called Jason Barrell.  The book is called Try, Try Again. Written with the help of Elaine Weber McGough

Jason grew up in Northland, struggled through school with dyslexia, ran a successful business with his wife, became a professional Rugby Player in the Super 12 and then got a broken neck.

When the broken neck ended his rugby career, he went on to become a policeman. Unfortunately tragedy struck again and a series of strokes forced him to undergo a life threatening operation that left him semi-paralysed, brain injured and unable to work. He was only 32.

This book tells of his recovery from this to become one of New Zealand’s most successful motivational speakers.

I was lucky enough to be at a conference to hear him speak.  Hearing his story from the man himself is amazing.  He is so strong.

The next book I want to talk about is:

Excuse me, your life is waiting – The astonishing power of Positive Feelings – Lynn Grabhorn

The back cover says that this book finally clarifies why most of our dreams have never materialised, why we have lived with all too empty bank accounts, tough relationships, failing health, and spiritually unfulfilling lives.

This book is all  about the Physics of thought and it teaches you how to turn your thoughts around.

Reading I learned all sorts of things which I probably do automatically now.  And I pass this book onto others to read if they think they are going no where.

The third book I want to share with you today “The Last Lecture” by Randy Pausch

This became very popular in the mid to late 2000’s.  It is the book written for a lecture series which was called the last lecture and was a chance for famous speakers to imagine what would be said if there was their last lecture.

At the time Randy had only just been told that the prostate cancer he had was terminal so he wrote the most amazing lecture aimed at his children knowing what he thought of them and giving them all kinds of advice.

I love inspirational books.  They make you see that against all adversity you can succeed.

If you want to get to know more inspirational people like these and listen to them daily then please join me by clicking the banner in the middle of the post, contacting me on Facebook, Twitter or Linked in and leaving comments

Have a wonderful day
